Abstract
This Act creates a framework for the preparation and approval of environment impact assessment reports for activities that may have an impact on the environment as defined in section 1.
The Act is divided into 5 Chapters: Scope etc. (I); Comprehensive plans and programmes (II); Environment assessment, environment reporting and publication (III); Approval and rendering public, appeals, etc. (IV); Entry into force and transitional provisions (V). Section 1 defines the scope and application sphere of the Act. The Act shall apply to the plans as specified in section 3, comma 1. The Act provides for further regulation by the Ministry of the Environment (sects. 10 to 16). (18 sections completed by 5 Schedules)
