Abstract
This Act contains rules relative to the keeping of pigs for commercial purposes. The Act lies down requirements for the well being and health of the kept animals - size of huts and relative size of livestock inhabiting them (article 3) and outdoor space (article 9). The Act underlines the obligation of electronic communication (art. 13) whereby the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries shall establish regulations on written communication (electronically) related to matters in this document. The Ministry shall also establish regulations on the right to appeal against decisions made under this Act including those which cannot be appealed to any other governmental administrative authority.
The Act consists of 8 Chapters: Scope and application (1); Criteria for huts (2); Criteria for farming space, outdoor space, etc. (3); Keeping of swine in risk-huts (4); Water, feeding (5); Duty of electronic communication(5a): General provisions (6); Injunctions (6a); Appeals (6b): Penalties (7); Entry into force and transitional provisions (8).
