Abstract
This Executive Order, of the Ministry of Food, sets out Greenland’s rules for border veterinary control of fishery products, live shellfish, and their by-products imported from non-EU countries. It defines key terms, establishes documentation and laboratory testing requirements, and mandates the use of the Common Veterinary Entry Document (CVED) and the EU TRACES system to notify and track consignments. Importers must submit health certificates and ensure compliance with Greenlandic and EU standards before goods are released for free circulation. The procedures cover pre-arrival notification, inspection, customs clearance, handling of compliant and non-compliant consignments, coordination with customs and tax authorities, record-keeping, and traceability of divided batches. The Food and Veterinary Authority is empowered to coordinate with enforcement bodies, access customs databases, and impose fines for violations.
