Order No. 1553 on the protection of fur animals.

The present Order lays down rules on animals primarily kept for fur production. It sets minimum requirements to be met when keeping fur animals, including on animal welfare, and prohibits the use of fur animals born in the wild in fur animal production. When keeping fur animals and especially when developing new methods within fur animal production, the biological characteristics of the fur animal species shall be given the utmost consideration. The Order prohibits routine or systematic use of medicine to compensate for poor hygiene or care conditions.

Capture, handling, and relocation, etc.; 10. Breeding; 11. Special provisions for minks, ferrets, and polecats; 12. Special provisions for foxes; 13. Special provisions for coypus (nutria); 14. Special provisions for chinchillas; 15. Waiver; 16. Penalties and entry into force, etc.
