Abstract
This Executive Order regulates the fees that Danish municipalities may charge for certain services provided under the Elderly Care Act, including general support services, parts of comprehensive care, meal delivery, meal schemes, respite care and temporary stays. Charges may not exceed the municipality’s average long-term costs and must be reviewed at least annually. For 2026, recipients entitled to choose a meal provider must be offered at least one daily main meal for no more than DKK 50, while full board in care homes and similar facilities may cost no more than DKK 4,453 per month. Fees for respite care and temporary stays are calculated according to the recipient’s and, where relevant, their spouse’s income, subject to deductions and maximum hourly rates, and municipalities may adjust charges in exceptional financial circumstances.
