Order No. 347 on the connection of producers of renewable gas or low-carbon gas to the methane-based gas system.

This Order establishes the rules governing the connection of producers of renewable gas (including upgraded biogas/biomethane and certain renewable gaseous fuels) and low-carbon gas to Denmark’s methane-based gas system. It requires transmission and distribution system operators, upon request, to connect eligible gas producers to the network, subject to compliance with technical standards and system-use conditions. The Order regulates the designation of connection points, allocation of connection and operating costs, ownership and operation of connection facilities, information obligations towards producers, and procedures for decisions and appeals. Producers are generally responsible for the direct costs of connection and gas injection, while wider network modification costs are borne by the relevant system operator. The Order implements parts of EU Directive 2024/1788 on common rules for the internal markets in renewable gas, natural gas and hydrogen.
