Abstract
This Executive Order regulates the production, certification and marketing of cereal seed in Denmark. It applies to specified cereal species intended for agricultural or horticultural production and requires relevant businesses to be registered, maintain traceability records and comply with rules governing seed-production fields, crop inspections, sampling, laboratory analysis, varietal identity, seed health, quality standards, packaging, sealing and official labelling. Seed lots generally may be marketed only after certification, although limited exceptions apply, including certain provisional sales, exports, experimental uses and sales of uncertified material between registered businesses.
The Order also establishes requirements for imports, OECD certification, seed mixtures, conservation varieties and chemically treated seed, including specific documentation and labelling obligations. TystofteFonden and the Danish agricultural authorities are responsible for certification, inspection and enforcement, and violations may result in fines or the withdrawal of authorisations.
