Abstract
This Order sets rules for companies operating in plant breeding, animal husbandry, forestry or combinations thereof which use a different code than the industry’s. The Order’s purpose is to regulate specific amount of fertilizing production given a specific planning area of crops. Animal manure shall be regulated in ratio of animals present on fields and nitrogen standards from manure shall be regulated accordingly and are listed in the enclosed Annexes. The calculation of the consumption of nitrogen in manure shall be applied to the following proportions of the total content of nitrogen in fertilizer used: Pig slurry 75%; Cattle slurry and mink manure 70%; deep litter 45% and other livestock 65%. For calculation of consumption of nitrogen in other organic fertilizers than manure, the following proportions of the total content of nitrogen in fertilizer are used: sewage sludge 45%; composted municipal waste 20%; potato juice 50%; pressed juice from green pill manufacturing 40%; urea 100%; garden and park waste 0%; and other types of organic fertilizers 40%. Up to 500 farming businesses may apply to participate in a pilot project on balance sheet accounts in the period of 1 August 2005 to 31 July 2008 and application thereof shall be submitted to the Plant Directorate between 1 October 2005 and 30 November 2005.
