Abstract
The Act aims to regulate the agricultural use of fertilizer and lays down provisions requiring the setting up of plant covers and other culture-related activities with the purpose of reducing nitrogen leaking. The Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark regulates provisions of this Act and requires all activities of plant coverage (crop production, animal husbandry, forestry or their combinations) to notify and register their commercial enterprises, should these have an annual taxable turnover exceeding DKK 50 000. The Minister establishes rules regarding the trade of nitrogen fertilizers which activities must be reported with details on type, quantity and content in volume. Biogas, processing facilitiess and combustion plants must also be report data on the received fertilizers, manure and nitrogen contents thereof.
