Abstract
The Order s purpose is to monitor and record Infectious pancreatic necrosis and bacterial kidney disease cases in aquaculture, by classifying them in 5 categories listed under Appendix 1: disease-free health status (I), health status as defined following monitoring (II), maintaining health status as category I or II. Production farms with a health status category II or II on IPN or BKD shall, once a year, be subject to inspection by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration for the sampling of at least 30 fish for laboratory testing. Salmonids, eggs, semen and breeding, may only be supplied by farms of health status category I for IPN or BKD. Fish, including eggs, semen and breeding not originating from the salmon family, may only be supplied by farms after having obtaining authorization from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. Farm fish shall be considered as infected with IPN or BKD on the basis of laboratory studies conducted at the National Veterinary Institute, or other approved laboratory, and which concludes that fish is infected with IPN virus or Renibacterium salmoninarum (BKD bacteria). Such certification shall fall under category V.
