Executive Decree No. 12-235 of 3 Rajab 1433 corresponding to 24 May 2012 establishing the list of protected non-domestic animal species.

This Executive Decree, comprising 4 articles and 1 Annex, aims to establish rules for protecting wild animal species in Algeria. It defines the list of protected wild animal species, as well as the type and duration of protection measures, including the regions and periods of the year when these measures apply. Article 2 creates a joint ministerial committee to identify protected wild animal species, determine their habitats, population conditions, and protection requirements during vulnerable periods or circumstances. A temporary list of protected wild animal species is attached to the decree to ensure immediate protection until the final list is prepared.
