Abstract
This Ministerial Regulation, made in accordance with article 59 (3) point 2 of the Nature and Conservation Act, establishes the procedure for the registration of the keeping of live mammals, birds and reptiles, in compliance with the provisions specified in Annex A of the Regulation (EC) 338/97 of the Council of the European Union on the protection of wild animal and plant species by regulating their trade. According to the Regulation, every animal keeper is obliged to register the species in his possession, submitting personal data and information, and documents proving the acquisition of the species. The Authority provides for marking the species within one month from the registration date. The Regulation prevents anyone from keeping living specimens belonging to the ape family, except for confiscated specimens and specimens kept in zoos.
