Abstract
This Regulation, established on the basis of subsections 4 and 5 of § 62 of the Veterinary Act, establishes the measures for organising the monitoring of the most important serotypes of certain bacteria belonging to the Salmonella family (hereinafter Salmonella ) from the point of view of human health safety, and more precise measures for the prevention and control of infections caused by these serotypes. The Regulation applies to birds, turkeys, pigs and cattle. Matters covered by this Regulation include: salmonella control and inspection programme; taking sampling and analysis; monitoring of breeding and pedigree birds kept for hatching egg production; monitoring of birds kept for the purpose of egg production and meat production; measures to be introduced in the poultry flock and in pig and cattle herd in case of detection of salmonella serotype; salmonella sampling of animal products and salmonella control measures; control of animal feed.
