Abstract
This Regulation, based on provisions of paragraph 131 (2) of the Water Act, establishes water protection requirements for aquaculture farms, including limit values for the content of pollutants in water from aquaculture and requirements for discharge and monitoring. This Regulation does not regulate aquaculture which does not require a water permit or registration. The Regulation consists of 13 sections: Scope of regulation (1); Aquaculture farm (2); Choice of location of farm (3); Accounting for pollutants discharged into the aquatic environment (4); Accounting for pollutants discharged into the aquatic environment upon removal of sediment (5); Water abstraction requirements (6); Water treatment requirements (7); Sediment handling requirements (8); Termination of farm activities (9); Requirements for drainage of water (10); Monitoring requirements (9); Operation log (12); and Implementation of regulation (13).
