Regulation No. 20 on conditions and procedure for granting support for the conversion of ships to make them more environmentally friendly.

This Regulation establishes the conditions and procedure for granting support for the conversion of ships to more environmentally friendly forms, within a state measure aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the maritime sector. It defines the objective of decreasing emissions and increasing energy efficiency through the retrofitting of vessels, and sets out the indicators for assessing results, including emission reductions and energy savings. The implementation of the measure is coordinated by the Ministry of Climate, while applications are processed, payments are made and supervision is carried out by the Environmental Investment Centre.
The Regulation specifies the requirements for applicants and vessels, the activities eligible for support, and the categories of costs that may be financed. It determines the support rates and maximum amounts, and sets rules relating to State aid and de minimis aid. It further establishes the procedure for submitting and assessing applications, including documentation requirements and evaluation criteria, and regulates the obligations of beneficiaries, including procurement rules, reporting, monitoring and verification of results. It also provides for the modification or revocation of support decisions and sets out the conditions under which granted support may be recovered.
