Abstract
This Regulation establishes the procedure for determining the hazard level of radiation activities. It defines the scope, sets out applicable definitions, and provides categories for radioactive sources and electrical radiation devices based on specified physical parameters, including radionuclide activity and radiation energy levels. It also specifies the method for calculating the ratio used to classify radioactive sources and sets thresholds for categorisation.
The Regulation provides a framework for assessing the risk level of radiation activities, taking into account the number and characteristics of radiation sources, potential radiation doses to workers and the public, and factors related to infrastructure, safety measures, and operational conditions. It sets out the stages for determining the hazard level, combining the category of the radiation source and the results of the risk assessment, with detailed criteria provided in annexes for the application of this classification.
