Regulation No. 48 of 2019 of Minister of the Environment on list of groundwater bodies and procedures for their identification, status classes and procedures, values of quality indicators for chemical status and conditions for quantitative status, list of pollutants endangering groundwater, threshold values for their content by groundwater bodies and groundwater quality thresholds and background level

This Regulation establishes the list of groundwater bodies and the procedure for distinguishing them; the status classes of groundwater bodies and the procedure for determination thereof; the values of the quality indicators used to determine the chemical status corresponding to the status classes; the conditions of the indicators used to determine the quantitative status; a list of pollutants endangering groundwater; threshold values for the content of pollutants by sets; quality limit values in groundwater; and the principles for determining the background level of the content of pollutants. This Regulation applies to groundwater by bodies of groundwater provided for in subsection 2 (1) of this Regulation. The purpose of this Regulation is to ensure the protection of groundwater through the assessment of the status of groundwater and the determination of the status classes of groundwater bodies in a manner that enables the effective planning and implementation of water protection measures. The Regulation consists of eleven sections: Scope, field of application and purpose of regulation (1); List and differentiation of groundwater bodies (2); Information on the basis of which the status class of a body of groundwater is determined (3); Determination of status class of groundwater body (4); Assessment of chemical status of groundwater body on the basis of data from observation points (5); Quality indicators used for determination of chemical status class of groundwater body (6); Determination of chemical status class of groundwater body according to values of quality indicators (7); Principles for determination of background level (8); Limit values for groundwater quality (9); Pollutants endangering groundwater and threshold values for their content (10); and Indicators used for determination of quantitative status class of groundwater body (11).
