Integrated Marine and Coastal Zone Management Proclamation, 1995.

The Act makes provision for the protection, conservation and sustainable development of coastal areas of Eritrea.
The 29 articles are divided into 10 Parts: Management of the Coastal Zone (I); Environmental Effects of Projects (II); Pollution from Land (III); Pollution for Offshore Sources (IV); Environmentally Hazardous Activities (V); Protection of Coastal Environment (VI); Enhancement of the Coastal Environment (VII); Control of Human Activities (VIII); Offences and Penalties (IX); General Provisions (X).
Coordination of the preparation of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Policy (ICZMP) shall be a task of the Ministry of Marine Resources (art. 4). Provisions of articles 9 and 10 deal with environment impact assessment statements. The remaining provisions of Part II deal with the approval of projects. The Minister of Marine Resources may make Regulations for the implementation of this Law (art. 28).
