Ethiopian Energy Authority Establishment Council of Ministers Regulation No.308/2014.

This Regulation of the Council of Ministers, made under the Energy Proclamation, establishes the Ethiopian Energy Authority as an autonomous federal government office having its own legal personality. The objectives of the Authority shall be to: Promote competitiveness in the energy sector; ensure efficient, economical and fair supply of energy; and promote energy. The Authority shall have the powers and duties to exercise the powers and duties provided for under Article 4 of the Proclamation. The rights and obligations of the Electricity Agency established under the Electricity Proclamation No. 86/1997 are transferred to the Authority.
