Abstract
This Proclamation makes provision with respect to the development, conservation and sustainable utilization of forest resources in Ethiopia. It defines various measures for the promotion of forest development including the grant of rural land to private individuals and organizations and development of State production forests on concession basis. The Proclamation furthermore provides for the conservation, development and administration of State Forest, designation and administration of protected forests, the promotion of farming in forests and sylvo-pastoralism, the prevention of forest fires, the promotion of forest technology and regulation of activities in forests including the cutting of trees and movement of forest products.
