Solid Waste Management Proclamation (No. 513 of 2007).

This Proclamation makes provision for the management of solid waste and for designation and implementation of solid waste management action plans at the lowest administrative units of urban administrations so as to ensure community participation. The objective of the Proclamation is to enhance at all levels capacities to prevent possible adverse impacts while creating economically and socially beneficial assets out of solid waste. The Proclamation also concerns, among other things, inter-regional movement of solid wastes, food related solid wastes and civil liability of owners of any solid waste disposal site.
