Abstract
This Agreement establishes the principles, rules and procedures governing (i) economic, financial, technical and scientific cooperation in the fisheries sector with a view to ensuring responsible fishing in European Union waters to guarantee the conservation and sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources; (ii) the conditions governing access by Seychelles fishing vessels to European Union waters; (iii) the arrangements for policing fisheries in European Union waters with a view to ensuring that the above rules and conditions are complied with, the measures for the conservation and management of fish stocks are effective, and that illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing is prevented. The Parties undertake to promote responsible fishing in European Union waters based on the principle of non-discrimination between the different fleets fishing in those waters (without prejudice to the agreements concluded between developing countries within a geographical region). The Annex sets out the conditions for the exercise of fishing activities by Seychelles vessels (fishing opportunities, fishing authorizations, monitoring, and observers.

This Agreement shall apply for six years from the date of its provisional application. It shall be renewed for additional periods of six years, unless notice of termination is given in accordance with Article 11.
