Abstract
This Directive lays down rules applicable to cereal-based and other baby foods for particular nutritional used by: infants while they are being weaned; and young children as a supplement to their diet or for their progressive adaptation to ordinary food. The Directive states that these foods must be manufactured from ingredients whose suitability has been established by generally accepted scientific data. The annexes to the Directive lay down provisions on composition, maximum residue limits for pesticides, prohibition on the use of certain pesticides and labelling.
