Commission Directive 77/535/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to methods of sampling and analysis for fertilizers.

This Directive, setting in Annex methods of sampling for the control of fertilizers, ensures that Member States will take the necessary measures to ensure that official controls of EC fertilizers are done in accordance with Article 8 of Council Directive 76/116/EC. Specialist officers authorized for that purpose by the Member States should take the samples. Samples thus obtained shall be considered as representative of the sampled portions. In Annex II are set the general requirements for laboratory equipment, definitions of the procedure for the preparation of the sample for analysis, the treatment to be used and methods.
