Abstract
The present Regulation, which consists of three articles and one Annex, lays down the marketing standard for sweet peppers. The standard shall apply at all stages of marketing under the conditions established in Regulation (EC) No. 2200/96. The standard is contained in the Annex attached, which is divided into six Parts. Part I lays down the definition of the produce hereby concerned. For the purposes of these provisions, sweet peppers are those varieties (cultivars) grown from Capsicum annum L. to be supplied fresh to the consumer, sweet peppers for industrial processing being excluded. The subsequent five Parts lay down provisions concerning quality, sizing, tolerances, presentation and marking.
