Abstract
This Regulation sets up a common organization of the market in fruit and vegetables. Products to be delivered fresh to the consumer may be classified by reference to a set of standards. The holder of products covered by the quality standards adopted may not display such products or offer them for sale, or deliver or market them in any other manner within the Community than in conformity with those standards. The information particulars required by the quality standards must be shown legibly in an obvious position on one side of the packaging. Products covered by quality standards shall be accepted for importation or exportation from third countries only if they conform to the quality standards or to standards at least equivalent to them. Norms granting rights to producer's organizations are established. In Annex are listed the products covered by quality standards and the list of products eligible for Community withdrawal compensation.

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.

Regulation (EEC) No. 1035/72 of the Council of 18 May 1972 on the common organization of the market in fruit and vegetables has been repealed by the present Regulation. Annexes V and VI are not available.
