Abstract
Each Member State shall ensure that the total engine power in evidence for its fishing vessels authorized by Regulation (EC) No. 850/98 to use beam trawls inside the area referred to in article 29(1) of that Regulation does not exceed at any time the limit for that Member State as given in the Annex to this Regulation. Each Member State shall indicate definitively to the Commission before 1 February 2001 the limit on the total engine power vessels that actually existed on 1 January 2001. Member States shall notify the Commission of any change in any of their lists. Member States shall specifically indicate the fishing vessels that are being added to or withdrawn from the list, and also any special fishing permit or additional special fishing permit that is withdrawn or any new or additional special fishing permit that is issued. Member States shall collaborate to provide annually a scientific evaluation of the effects of the conditions defined in this Regulation.
