Abstract
The Annex to the present Regulation contains the list of third countries referred to in article 11(1) (a) of Regulation No. 2092/91/EEC. The list determines those countries from which organic products may be imported into and marketed within the Community. The Commission is empowered to consider whether to include a third country in the list upon receipt of an application for inclusion from the representative of the country concerned. The application shall be completed by a technical dossier containing the information required by article 2 (2). The Commission shall therefore verify that the rules governing production and inspection in the third country in question are equivalent to those laid down in Regulation No. 2092/91/EEC. Where necessary, the Commission shall proceed to on-the-spot examinations. If, after a third country has been included in the list, any changes are made to the rules in force or to their implementation, that third country must notify without any delay the Commission, which shall undertake appropriate measures as per article 2 (5).
