Abstract
The main amendments regard the reintroduction of pigs and the measures to be taken in order to avoid a new outbreak of classical swine fever. New rules to be followed in case of suspect of infection, protection zones and vaccinations are set. Member States shall also submit to the Commission at the earliest opportunity a written plan of the measures taken to eradicate the disease in an area defined as infected and the measures applied on the holdings in that area. Annex I is replaced by a new Annex on diagnostic procedures for the confirmation of differential diagnosis of classical swine-fever and an Annex on serological screening of pigs in the protection zone and surveillance zone for detection of antibodies against classical swine-fever virus and one on procedure for cleaning and disinfecting an infected holding preliminary cleaning and disinfecting is added.
