Abstract
The Community legislative framework in matter of shipment of waste is contained in Council Regulation (EEC) No. 259/93. However, shipments of waste destined for recovery only and listed in Annex II thereto are excluded from the application scope. According to article 1 of the present Regulation, the export of waste listed in Annex II to Regulation (EEC) No. 259/93 and mentioned in Annex A hereto to countries listed in said Annex A shall be prohibited. Moreover, the control procedure laid down in article 15 of Regulation (EEC) No. 259/93 shall apply to exports to the countries listed in Annex B to this Regulation with respect to those categories of waste destined for recovery only and listed in Annex II to Regulation (EEC) No. 259/93.
