Abstract
The present Regulation lays down technical measures which are additional to those contained in Regulation 850/98/EC and shall apply solely to the Irish Sea (ICES Division VIIa as defined in Regulation 3880/91/EEC). Article 2 of this Regulation determines the types of demersal towed nets which may not be used when fishing in the Irish Sea. The conditions established therein are intended to ensure that the selectivity of fishing gears deployed in the Irish Sea are such that few young cod are captured.
