Abstract
In accordance with this Regulation, the Community may fund, in whole or in part, measures in third countries for the purpose of providing information on, or promoting, agricultural products and food products. Nevertheless, these measures shall not favour the products of any Member State. The measures shall be, among others, the following: a) public relations, promotional or publicity measures, in particular highlighting the advantages of Community products, especially in terms of quality, hygiene, food safety, nutrition, labelling, animal welfare or environment friendliness; b) information campaigns; c) studies of new markets. Article 3 defines the products which shall be eligible for the measures aforementioned. A Monitoring Group shall supervise the proper conduct of the measures. Article 9 makes provision on the Community’s financial contribution.

This Regulation, which entered into force on 1 January 2000, shall apply until 31 December 2004.
