Abstract
The present Regulation establishes principles and procedures for fishery management, so that Member States can ensure the management of the vessels flying their flag. These provisions fix fishing opportunities for the year 2006, for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks, and the associated conditions under which such fishing opportunities may be used. In addition, they establish certain effort limits and associated conditions for January 2007, and for certain Antarctic stocks they fix the fishing opportunities and specific conditions for the periods specified in Annex IE. The above-mentioned associated conditions include landing catches and bycatches, licences, mesh sizes, minimum size of fishes and transhipment.
