Abstract
Regulation (EC) No. 850/98 is hereby amended. In particular, article 5 (5) shall be deleted. Further, the following articles are hereby substituted: 4(4) (b); 6(1) (a); 7(4); 10; 18(4); 28(1) (a). Amendments are laid down to some Annexes as well. Annex VI, on fixed gears for Regions 1 and 2, shall be replaced by Annex I to this Regulation. Annexes XII and XIII are amended as set out in article 1, paragraphs 12 and 13 respectively. The amendments laid down in this Regulation mainly concern landing, carrying on board of certain fishing gear, minimum size of specific fish species, catch retained on board. For each fishing voyage, during which only towed nets of one range of mesh size are used, landings shall be prohibited whenever the catch taken in each of the regions or geographical areas mentioned in Annexes I to V, and retained on board, does not comply with the corresponding conditions laid down in the relevant Annex.
