Council Regulation (EEC) No. 1899/85 establishing a minimum mesh size for nets used when fishing for capelin in that part of the zone of the Convention on future multilateral cooperation in the north-east Atlantic fisheries which extends beyond the maritime waters falling within the fisheries jurisdiction of Contracting Parties to the Convention.

Vessels flying the flag of, or registered in, a Member State shall be prohibited from using nets with a mesh size of less than 16 mm when fishing for capelin in that part of the Convention zone which extends beyond the maritime waters falling within the fisheries jurisdiction of the Contracting Parties to this Convention. In Annex is a definition of the area covered by the Convention on future multilateral cooperation in North-East Atlantic fisheries.
