Abstract
This Regulation fixes the fishing opportunities available to European Union vessels for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks which are not subject to international negotiations or agreements. These fishing opportunities include: (a) catch limits for the year 2012; and (b) fishing effort limits for the period from 1 February 2012 to 31 January 2013. Four annexes are attached. Annex I lays down Total Allowable Catches applicable to European Union vessels; Annex IIA concerns fishing effort for vessels in the context of the management of cod stocks in the Kattegat, ICES divisions VIa and VIIa, and EU waters of ICES division Vb; Annex IIB concerns fishing effort for vessels in the context of the recovery of certain Southern hake and Norway lobster stocks in ICES divisions VIIIc and IXa excluding the Gulf of Cádiz; Annex III concerns effort for vessels in the context of the management of Western Channel sole stocks in ICES division VIIe.
