Abstract
The present Act contains provisions regarding support for researching the degree of pollution in polluted areas and for supporting the remediation of polluted areas. Support may be granted for researching the risk or inconvenience to health or the environment caused by contamination of soil, groundwater, or sediment, as well as for the remediation of contaminated areas. State support may be granted when: 1) It cannot be determined who caused the pollution, or if the polluter cannot be found or is unable to bear the costs of the measures; and 2) It is clearly unreasonable for anyone other than the person who caused the contamination to investigate the degree of pollution in an area or remediate the area.
