Abstract
A Decree to provide for the application for and granting of plant breeders' rights and related matters. Applications for registration shall be signed by the applicant or a representative of the applicant and they shall contain the information specified in section 1. The Plant Variety Board shall maintain a list of all the applications submitted to it for the registration of plant varieties (sect. 2). Section 3 provides for publication by the Board of such information and application for registration. Any claim in respect of an application for registration or a variety denomination shall be substantiated (sect. 6). Any person filing an application for registration in Finland for a variety which has been the object of an earlier application in another State, shall advise to the Board of the response of the authority in such other State (sect. 7). Section 8 regulates inclusion of a variety in the Plant Variety Register. The priority referred to in Section 12 of the Law on Breeders' Rights may be granted on subject to fulfilment of conditions stated in section 10. Remaining sections provide for removing a variety from the Plant Variety Register, notification to the National Board of Patents and Registration of Trademarks, notification to license holders, and publication of registration and other matters.
