Abstract
This Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry provides for the epidemiological monitoring of the presence of bacterial kidney disease in fish (BKD), and provides for prevention of the spreading of the disease and on a voluntary program on health surveillance of animals referred to in section 12 of the Law on animal diseases. Other legislation, including Commission Regulation No. 1251/2008, shall apply in part in combating BKD. The monitoring shall be carried out in control areas as defined by this Decree. The Decree defines measures in case of suspected presence of the disease and in case of affirmed presence of the disease in control areas. Measures concern both fish in aquaculture installations and wild fish.
