Abstract
The scope of this Decree is to safeguard the food hygiene qualities of fish products intended for human consumption that are imported from countries outside the European Union. Section 2 defines the application sphere of the Regulation, whereas section 3 concerns the relationship of this text to other law texts. General conditions for the importation of fish products are outlined in section 6. Section 7 concerns the importation of prepared fish and fish products from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, whereas section 8 prescribes rules for the importation of such products from other third countries. Section 10 makes sections 7 and 8 also applicable to landing of fish products from fishing vessels from third countries. The Schedules list countries from which fish products may be imported subject to certain conditions and list applicable EC legislation. (15 sections)
