Abstract
The present Decree, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, implements Council Directive 2001/113/EC relating to fruit jams, jellies and marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée intended for human consumption. It applies to the products defined in Annex 1, but does not apply to products intended for the production of bakery and confectionery products or biscuits. In the manufacture of the products defined in Annex 1, only the raw materials defined in Annex 2 and other ingredients specified in Annex 3 may be used, along with additives in accordance with the specific regulations governing the use of additives in food products. The names mentioned in Annex 1 may only be used for the products defined in that Annex, and they must be used in commerce to designate these products. Products that do not meet the requirements of this regulation may not be marketed as of July 12, 2004.
