Abstract
The scope of this Decree is to prevent diseases affecting animals: 1) in relation with delivery of living animals or products from other member countries of the European Community in Finland and delivery of animals and products of Finland to one of these countries; 2) in relation with exportation from Finland of animals or products to countries other than member countries of the European Community (art. 1). Products are defined so as to include products of animal origin, feed and fertilizer of animal origin, vaccines, microorganisms, but also hay and straw and means of transport. Regulations containing further requirements regarding importation and exportation of animals and products shall be issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry pursuant to article 4. Articles 4 to 8 provide for various measures to control movement of animals and products within the European common market, whereas articles 9 and 10 contain requirements for the exportation of animals and products to third countries.
