Abstract
This Act provides rules which aim at securing the hygienic qualities of egg products which are intended for use as food (sect. 1). The Act shall not apply to foodstuffs made of egg products. Section appoints the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as the implementing authority at a national level. The Veterinary Drugs and Foodstuffs Institute is appointed as the prime supervisory authority. Act 583/86 realtive to infectious diseases and the Public Health Act shall aslo apply. Requirements outlined in Chapter 3 and 4 concern mainly the approval of premises, but deal also with the handling, transportation, and labelling of egg products and other matters. The remaining Chapters provide for appeal within the administration, offences and penalties, miscellaneous matters including registration of premises (sect. 41), supervision of importation and exportation (sects. 44-48), and entry into force.
