Abstract
The objective of the present Decree is to ensure that no medicinal substances capable of having a negative impact on human health or on the treatment of diseases, ton animals or on the environment are used for the medical treatment of animals. It applies to the medical treatment of all types of animals.
Section 4 contains a list of medicinal substances that are prohibited to promote the growth and yield of animals. The use of substances with estrogenic, androgenic, or progestognenic effect for the treatment of production animals is prohibited, except as specified in Section 5. Section 11 further contains a list of antimicrobial substances that are prohibited for the treatment of any animal species. The Decree also contains rules on beta-agonist drugs, export of animals that have received animal treatments, animals that have received illegal medical treatment, and others.
