Government Decree certain plastic products (No. 1318 of 2022).

This Government Decree contains provisions on the requirements for certain plastic products that complement the Waste Act (646/2011) and are necessary for the implementation of the Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment. The following products may not be placed on the market in Finland: 1) Products that contain oxo-degradable plastic, i.e., plastic materials that contain additives that cause the plastic material to fragment into micro-fragments or decompose chemically through oxidation; and 2) Single-use plastic products as specified in Annex 1. The packaging for single-use plastic products referred to in points 1–3 of Annex 2, as well as for single-use plastic products referred to in point 4 of Annex 2, must, when placed on the market in Finland, carry a visible, non-removable, and easily readable label containing the information specified in section 3.
