Abstract
The present Government Decree stipulates the national arrangements required for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No. 1829/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council on genetically modified food and feed. It contains detailed rules on the National Contact Point and its duties, the authority responsible for safety assessments, authority responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations in environmental risk assessments required by directive 2001/18/EC, formulation of the national position on the approval of genetically modified foods and feed, national GMO laboratories, information and consultation with the public, monitoring, etc. The Plant Production Control Center shall be the national contact point for the matters referred to in Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003.
