Government Decree on the prevention and compensation of damage caused by protected animals (No. 115 of 2023).

The present Government Decree contains provisions on grants for the prevention of damage caused by protected animals and the related obligations, as well as the determination of the calculated value of the damage concerning support for reindeer husbandry due to the nesting of the golden eagle. The granting of subsidies shall be based on an overall assessment and an evaluation of the expected effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and feasibility of the preventive measures in reducing damage caused by protected animals. A prerequisite for granting subsidies is that the measures to prevent damage caused by protected animals are based on a plan. The applicant for subsidies shall prepare a plan containing information on the protected animal species causing damage, the extent and timing of the damage, and the measures specified in the subsidy application.
