Government Decree on the restriction of emissions of volatile organic compounds caused by the use of organic solvents in certain paints and varnishes and products for vehicle refinish coating (No. 189 of 2022).

This Government Decree contains provisions for the prevention of environmental pollution, particularly air pollution caused by volatile organic compounds as referred to in Section 2, Paragraph 4, which contribute to the formation of ground-level ozone. The Decree applies to the paints and varnishes listed in Annex 1, which are used for functional, decorative, and protective purposes on buildings, building embellishments, fixed interior fittings, and associated structures, excluding aerosols. It also applies to the products for vehicle refinishing painting listed in Annex 1. The Decree also contains detailed provisions on labelling, methods for determining the VOC content, supervision, exceptions, etc.
