Government Decree on Treating Domestic Wastewater in Areas Outside Sewer Networks (No. 209/2011).

This Decree, made under section 27 c of the Environmental Protection Act, concerns the conduction and treatment of domestic wastewater in circumstances referred to in section 27 b of that Act. It sets out minimum requirements for the standard of treatment of wastewater and normative standard of treatment in areas sensitive to pollution. The Decree also requires a report to be prepared on the wastewater system, enabling the assessment of the environmental impact caused by such wastewater. An application for a permit shall also include wastewater system plan. The Decree also provides rules for use and maintenance of the wastewater system and makes provision with respect to monitoring by the Finnish Environment Institute of the generally available equipment and methods for wastewater treatment, and the results achieved with such equipment and methods.
