Abstract
The scope of the Act is to secure safe maritime traffic so as to prevent accidents which may damage natural resources (sect. 1). The text of the Act consist of 28 sections which are divided into 5 Chapters: General provisions (1); Rules relative to navigation (2); Rules relative to vessels (3); Rules relative to the use of vessels (4); Miscellaneous provisions(5).
Provisions of Chapter 2 outline general principles of careful navigation. Chapter 3 prescribes certain norms with respect to construction and equipment of vessels. Section 12 of Chapter 4 provides for inspection of vessels.
